'Reconstructing Ron' investigates the life and death of Ron Gittins - artist and builder of UK’s most spectacular ‘outsider art’ environment. Few entered Ron’s flat during his lifetime, and even fewer had any kind of close relationship with him. Sifting for clues through the jumble of documents and writings Ron left behind in the rented flat he decorated for 33 years, and tracking down those who knew Ron at key moments, the film excavates Ron’s turbulent life and troubled past. In the process, it sheds new light on his joyous, irrepressible creativity and the personal 'universe' he made for himself.
